Attendees

  • Jenny Turner (PALS) - coordinator
  • Cristina Trotter (Oconee Regional Library, PINES)
  • Ben Shum (Bibliomation) - notetaker
  • Elaine Grevenitis (TNRD Library System, SITKA)
  • Katherine Gregory (GPLS, PINES)

Past Meeting Followup

  • Wiki space re-organization
    • Ben explained the recent renaming and relinking of various evergreen-reports pages to follow some new draft guidelines submitted by the web team for use on wiki pages. The new style is generally evergreen-reports:meetings:2011-03-30 , for example. To view, check the lower right hand corner of the wiki screen and go to view the Index.
  • Listserv
    • Katharine reports no current update about the new listserv server, but hopes for something by the conference meeting.
  • Conference: Reports TaskForce meets 10-noon Wednesday
    • Session ideas:
      • Asking if other people would be interested in being involved/leading/running taskforce meetings
      • Brainstorming ideas for report needs
      • Time for people to ask questions about reports (frontend/backend)
      • Differences and similarities between Evergreen libraries in using reports
      • Talk more about how to share reports/templates with the rest of the community
      • Snacks?
  • DIG Update
    • Jenny has volunteered to be the reports coordinator. She is most comfortable with the client areas for the reports module, but is looking for additional volunteers to look over reports documentation and help with edits/writing new material.
  • 2.0 Update
    • Amy was supposed to report on new KCLS/ESI canned reports in 2.0, but no new reports have been submitted yet.
    • Amy spoke of plans to talk with Bibliomation member libraries to study specific report needs/requirements after migrating from Horizon to Evergreen this summer. For the libraries to run themselves, templates would be the best approach.

New Business

  • Meeting format
    • Despite last week's phone conference line issues, everyone noted that phone conversations were preferable to switching to online format. When the group grows, that would be the best time to explore using alternative means of meeting, such as through IRC.
    • Suggestion that someday the Governance group could explore procurement of community conference phone lines for meetings.
  • Other
    • Katherine has a document that lists warnings and problems with the existing canned reports and will share it to the reports list as soon as possible. Ideally, it would be good to have additional eyes to review reports before they become community additions.
  • Next meeting: at the 2011 Evergreen International Conference.
