In Windows, certain windows don't have the normal copy/paste clipboard functionality.  This includes the [[scratchpad:debug_console|Debug Console]] for the staff client, and any DOS/Command prompt windows, such as the one we tell you to use when [[scratchpad:pinging|pinging the server]].

To copy content from these windows (for say, pasting into a helpdesk ticket), follow these steps:

  * Right-click on the title bar for the window.
  * You should see a context menu containing such options as Move, Size, Edit, Properties, etc.  Choose **Edit**
  * You should see a submenu containing such options as Mark, Paste, and Select All.  Choose **Select All**
  * After choosing Select All, **press the Enter key**
  * Then window content should now be in your clipboard where you can **paste** it into another application.  This is better than screenshots.
