Through work with users at multiple Evergreen sites and evaluation of the most heavily used interfaces in cataloging and circulation, recommend specific measures that:
improve usability so that these interfaces are simpler and more intuitive to use;
improve workflow;
and reduce the number of steps it takes to perform actions in the system.
Recommend standard UI elements and best practices that can be used across all interfaces in the web client.
Formulate recommendations that minimize impact on development time for the new web client and also minimize the impact on training for the new client. In other words, we need to strike a balance between improving usability, ensuring that the web client is done in a timely manner, and ensuring that the move to the new client doesn't require a total retraining for staff to use Evergreen.
Work with a UI team designated by the Evergreen Oversight Board to plan the project, identify user groups, and prioritize interfaces that will be evaluated.
