Booking

Evergreen 1.6.1.0 will contain a new set of features for booking both cataloged and non-cataloged items. This page provides the documentation resources that are presently available for booking, but it should grow in the future to include more.

NOTE: The documentation for booking is also available in the Evergreen documentation at http://docs.evergreen-ils.org/1.6/draft/html/. In github: http://github.com/rsoulliere/Evergreen-DocBook/blob/master/1.6/.

Documentation

The following documentation by Sally Fortin of Equinox Software will explain how Booking works. Administrative Functions in the Booking Module is aimed at Administrators and Catalogers, while Booking Module User Documentation will probably be most useful to circulation staff.

Both documents will be included in DocBook Evergreen documentation (under development, see dig for details)

For system administrators

Booking uses one new org_unit setting, called circ.booking_reservation.default_elbow_room. Elbow room specifies how far in the future you must make a reservation on an item if that item will have to transit to reach its pickup location. It secondarily defines how soon a reservation on a given item must start before the check-in process will opportunistically capture it for the reservation shelf.

This setting has a default value of 1 day.
