DIG Report, Community Meeting, July 8, 2011

(Sorry no official DIG representative able to attend)

Minutes of our past meetings are available at http://evergreen-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=evergreen-docs:dig_meetings

We have an upcoming meeting on Monday, July 11 @ 2:30 PM EST. Anyone interested in documentation for Evergreen is encouraged to attend. Details and an agenda are at http://evergreen-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=evergreen-docs:dig_meeting_20110711-agenda

The Evergreen documentation migration to the official Evergreen git repository went smoothly. The official repository is at: http://git.evergreen-ils.org/?p=Evergreen-DocBook.git;a=summary

Special thanks to our volunteers filling leadership roles, listed at: http://www.open-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=evergreen-docs:digparticipants They have already contributed a lot to the project and will be very important as we go forward. The only role currently left vacant is the DocBook style coordinator, which is optional until the community wants to change colors, layout, logo, etc of the HTML and PDF documentation. If anyone has the skills and the interest to work on this, please contact us on the mailing list.

There has been a good discussion about single sourcing installation instructions (README file in code, WIki, Official Documentation, etc). We hope that we will have synchronized universal install directions in the near future. The installation instructions are currently being reviewed in the official documentation. ysuarez++ dbs++ for their efforts in this area.

Last but not least, if there's anyone with documentation you're willing to share with the community under Creative Commons licensing, please let us know about it on the DIG mailing list (http://libmail.georgialibraries.org/mailman/listinfo/open-ils-documentation). We're particularly looking for 2.x documentation.

Thanks!
