In Windows XP, here are some steps to add a Star SP200 printer:
Start -> Printers and Faxes -> File -> Add Printer
In the wizard, click Next, and uncheck "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer"
Click Next, make sure the port is set for LPT1: (Recommended Printer Port), and click Next again
Choose "Generic" for the Manufacturer, and "Generic / Text Only", and click Next
If there is an existing driver for this printer, just click Next again
On the dialog labelled Name Your Printer, choose a name such as "Receipt Printer" and make sure it is set to be the default printer. Click Next.
Share or do not share the printer as desired. Click Next.
Print a test page or not. Click next. Click Finished.
In Windows XP, here are some steps to create the custom page type:
Start -> Printers and Faxes -> File -> Server Properties
Check "Create New Form"
Set the "Form name" to "receipt"
Set the "Width" to "3in"
Set the "Height" to "1in"
Click "OK"
In Windows XP, here is how you would associate the printer above with the custom page type:
Start -> Printers and Faxes
Right click on your printer and choose Printer Preferences
Click "Advanced"
In the Paper Size field, choose your custom form, "receipt"
Click OK and OK
