Evergreen Reports Interest Group Meeting - November 30, 2022

  • Meeting Time: 2 PM Eastern

Agenda:

  • Report ID in interface - Terran will submit a patch
  • Jessica may look at exporting/importing templates when Angular interface is out
  • PA changed the way their ILL statistics are counted in their annual report. Materials that left the building and circulated to a patron not owned by the owning library. Only outside of the system.
  • Simple Reporter
    • Used for a data dump of broad category, example, items by status
    • 1 or 2 data points from same family of info
    • Too many data points from different areas will cause the reports not to run
  • Quick Reports
    • Written in PHP, PINES would like to see it integrated with EG
    • Executive reports "dashboard" could be a useful component
  • Counting Opinions - vendor to compile state report in GA
  • New set of canned reports? Could be similar to the new Concerto data set project.
  • Contributing to wiki
    • Where to start?
      • You can contribute very basic templates to give beginners a feel for where to start
      • You can run the one of the reports under "Reports about Reports" and contribute your most used templates.
      • We will have a working session to just focus on contributing templates to the wiki next year
  • Bibliomation is doing a big shared templates cleanup project with an internal reports working group made up of member libraries. Trying to take template cleanup in small chunks like a weeding project.
  • Ideas for meetings next year:
    • Crossover with CIG on collection development/analysis reports (scheduled for February meeting)
    • PINES Quick Reports (as a framework for future EG development)
    • Working session for contributing templates to the wiki
    • Crossover with other working groups
    • Ask Galen talk about something :)
