It's that time of year again for the Evergreen community's mid year between conferences developer in person meeting. Each year developers have said that the meeting has been increasingly valuable and this year it will be especially important given where we are with the new web based staff client, a project discussed at the Hack-A-way in Atlanta and then decided on in Michigan. The 2015 Hack-A-way is being hosted by MassLNC from Wednesday November 4th through Friday November 6th in Danvers, Massachusetts, about 20 miles north of Boston.
The meeting room will be set up with tables to support groups of developers working together during the event. A computer lab and a smaller conference room are also available in case a small group of people need to work together in a separate area. A projection screen is available to display those who are participating remotely. Bandwidth is also available to support participants at the Hack-A-Way.
Hack-a-way participants will have the option of flying into either Boston Logan Airport or Providence T.F. Green Airport. With two airport options available, travelers will have more flexibility in finding affordable flights to the area. Please fly into Logan if you can as that will give the volunteers more flexibility in arranging your travel.
Volunteers will be available to drive participants from the airport to the hotel and provide transportation to the hack-a-way site and to dinner locations. With three Evergreen consortia located in Massachusetts they have graciously volunteered to help get people where they need to go.
* The hotel is the Comfort Inn, Danvers, MA http://www.comfortinndanvers.com/
* Kathy has set aside a block of ten rooms from November 3 through November 5. The group rate can be applied to rooms booked earlier and later as long as you make a point of mentioning the group name when booking. The rooms are split equally among singles and doubles to accommodate people who may need to share a room (or maybe just prefer 2 beds.) There is a problem with doubles on the Friday night of November 6 because of another event that has set aside rooms, but they may be able to accommodate those requests when that event releases its rooms. The hotel has given feedback that they are likely to release rooms so I think we can accommodate this. Historically it has not been uncommon for folks to head out late Friday anyway.
* To book the rooms, attendees should call 1-978-777-1700 to book their rooms and mention the group name of Evergreen Developer Hackaway. The group rate is $85 without tax and $94.95 with tax.
* Hotel rooms should be booked by October 15. The group rate will be available after the 15th, but the rooms will be released and could be reserved by others.
